Julie Colvin grew up in Muskoka, Ontario, at her family-owned resort.

She went on to become a Diagnostic Medical-Imaging Technologist for fourteen years, married and had two children. It was not until her oldest child was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of seven, that she became aware of a much larger picture of health; one that involved holistic approaches for both the mind and body.

Learning Reflexology, Spiritual Psychology, Voice-Bio Sound Therapy and EFT to name a few; Julie quickly became a Wellness Facilitator, helping both herself and others on their journeys for more balance in life.

To assist with her own healing process, Julie took to writing as a way to make sense of the many changes that were happening in her life, giving rise to her first book, A Cure for Emma One Mothers Journey to Oz.  This engaging spiritual-memoir blows the dust off our hearts, showing us how to see our past with more clarity and move forward with renewed faith and purpose.

A Cure for Emma became a bestseller within days of its release sharing inspiration and hope for anyone going through adversity. Many who had shared Julies journey to publication via her uplifting blogs and Facebook pages began to request her help on bringing their stories to life.

Julie has since created Wellness & Writing Retreats. Utilizing all of her skill-sets, she provides luxury vacation experiences that facilitate the process of wellness through writing. New authors ignite their creative process and are guided on how to build an exceptional story, proposal and platform.

Collaborating with her most treasured writing coach, Lisa Fugard (Hay House Publishings Writing Workshop Instructor since 2009) Julie and Lisa also consult in-between Retreats, helping to bring inspirational new authors to publication.

As we share our stories we pave the way to healing, not just for ourselves, but for the world.  ~ Julie Colvin
